"No one will protect what they don't care about. And no one will care about what they have never experienced" Sir David Attenborough

The Green Skills Library uses recycled or donated materials to educate on sustainable practices, such as composting and furniture reupholstering.

Operating within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we create connections among businesses, communities, and residents to share resources like materials, software, tools, and expertise.

Through initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprints, diverting waste from landfills, repurposing resources, and fostering a mindset of sustainability, we strive to secure a better future for generations to come.

Once individuals understand the value of the materials that make up their possessions, they’re more likely to protect the precious resources from which they stem. An African Forest elephant decoration, created from the strips of a discarded magazine, is a physical representation of the decline nature is facing. Taking something routinely discarded and making something beautiful gives us a connection to our environment, spurring people on to take action to protect it.

Gather&Grow Maidenhead is returning for a second year, in partnership with Waltham Place Farm, Nature’s Haven Garden, the ECO Action Hub and Maidenhead Veg Growers.

We will be holding workshops on growing herbs and salads, composting and no-dig gardening, building planters and what pollinator friendly plants we can be growing. We’re also linking in with the local seedling swap.

At various venues throughout the Maidenhead area – we hope to bring the community together and spread knowledge about sustainable gardening practices. We’re hoping to empower individuals to grow their own food but also to find a sense of community and connection to the local environment.
